PWS Our Mission

Our Mission

Pasadena Waldorf School is a community where students can find a passion for learning, be curious about the world around them, and discover their purpose in it.  Our vigorous academic curriculum engages the whole human being, delivered in a setting that fosters self-awareness, social connection, responsibility, and action.

Our Campuses

Learning outside has been a part of a PWS education since 1979. Our nine acres of beautiful, sprawling, wooded campuses offer limitless opportunities to learn, imagine, and play. Our Machris Mariposa campus hosts our Kindergarten - 8th Grade classes, while our McComb Mendocino Campus just a few blocks away hosts our High School and Preschool.

PWS Story

Our Story

From a single class with seven children in a rented church basement in 1979, to the thriving Preschool - 12th Grade Waldorf school on two beautiful campuses today, PWS has a rich and vibrant history.

PWS Students

Our Students

Choosing a school for your child is a big decision.  As you learn more about PWS, we know you'll agree that Waldorf Education is unique, just like your child.  The faculty work together to help students build a foundation where they understand the interconnected nature of everything. Students grow into independent thinkers who can think outside the box, are aware of their gifts and talents, and have a moral compass to prepare their brain and spirit to move around the planet bringing their whole selves.

PWS Graduation

Our Teachers

In the heart of a Waldorf teacher lives the commitment to help each student reach for their highest potential. Our teachers gain a deep understanding of the whole human being as it unfolds through the critical phases of childhood so that they can guide students intellectually, physically, socially, and artistically.

PWS High School Graduates Alumni

Our High School Graduates

Colleges, companies, and communities love Waldorf graduates. Professors who have taught Waldorf students across many disciplines note that Waldorf graduates are leaders with high ethical and moral standards who take initiative, have the ability to integrate thinking, and are passionate to reach their goals.  Our 2023 graduates averaged over $170,000 each in merit scholarship awards. Take a look at where our grads have gone to college.

Our Families

A PWS education for your child is also a gift for your entire family because teaching students doesn’t stop when school ends. PWS has helped enrich the lives of so many families over the years. See what several current and alumni PWS parents have to say about Waldorf Education in this film celebrating 100 years of Waldorf, An Education for the Future.
