Devices in the classroom lead to significant distractions, diminishing focus and learning retention. At Pasadena Waldorf School, we utilize an intentional and developmentally appropriate approach to technology which includes keeping smartphones out of the classroom entirely with phone lockers for our high school students, and limiting or eliminating unnecessary educational tech. This approach allows students to focus on their lessons and human connections with one another and their teachers. Without distractions, students practice attention, develop a true love of learning and fully immerse themselves into each subject.
